About the event
Communities Responding to Extreme Weather (CREW) is a network of local leaders building grassroots climate resilience through inclusive & hands-on education/training, resilience research, Together, we work to empower and equip families and communities with the resources and capacity to prepare for and respond to local climate changes and extreme weather equitably, sustainably, & collaboratively.
Leigh Meunier co-organizes a local grassroots depaving initiative (DePAVE the WAY!) and, with CREW, has led community engagement for the Charles River Flood Model project (with Charles River Watershed Association) and now leads Proactive Coastal Relocation project (with The Nature Conservancy and CZM).
Leigh and CREW will share how they've engaged residents informally and through their coastal and riverine flood preparedness events and workshops. They'll incorporate interactive exercises and highlight effective tools for outreach, collecting community feedback, and implementing nature-based / flood mitigation projects.
